What are under-eye bags and dark circles? Why aren’t they “one single problem”?
“Dark circles” and “eye bags” are often discussed together in casual conversation, but in clinical aesthetic assessment they are two distinct yet mutually influencing concerns.Under-Eye Bags refers to the bulging caused by lower eyelid fat herniation, skin laxity, or weakening of the orbital septum;Dark Circles refers to the darkened tone of the periorbital area, which can be caused by vascular show-through, pigmentation or anatomical shadowing. These factors often overlap, producing the triple visual impression of looking ‘older, tired and unwell’.
Why don’t eye creams work?
Eye creams can only improve the surface barrier and superficial pigment — they cannot address Dermal thinning, vascular show-through, fat herniation and bony hollowing these four underlying structural issues — these are the true culprits behind periocular aging.
Why is this especially prominent in Asian faces?
