First 24 hours

Apply a thin layer of gentle barrier moisturiser (Cetaphil, La Roche-Posay, or our recommended in-clinic balm).
No makeup over treated areas. No heat — no sauna, no hot yoga, no hot showers for 24 hours.
Cool compresses for redness if uncomfortable. Avoid ice direct-on-skin.

Days 2–7

Following your care protocol is what separates a laser treatment that “may cause darkening” from one that delivers consistent results. Please read carefully and feel free to ask our physician any questions.

Pre-procedure preparation

Avoid sun exposure and self-tanning for 2 weeks before treatment
Discontinue retinoids, AHAs, and exfoliating products 3–5 days before treatment
Do not wax, bleach, or use depilatory creams on the treatment area
Inform our physician of all medications, supplements, and skin conditions
Please arrive on the day of treatment with clean skin and no makeup.

During the procedure

Protective eyewear is worn throughout the entire procedure
Topical anaesthetic cream available if needed (applied 30–45 minutes before treatment)
A mild sensation similar to a rubber band snap; a cooling device is used to enhance comfort
Single session duration: 15–45 minutes, depending on the size of the treatment area
Immediate post-treatment redness and mild swelling are normal reactions.

Post-Procedure Care

Daily strict use of broad-spectrum SPF 50+ sunscreen — non-negotiable
Keep skin moisturized using gentle, fragrance-free products
Avoid direct sun exposure for 2 weeks after treatment
Do not pick or scratch the treated area — allow spots to shed naturally
