Who they are
Nanjing Medical University's Fourth Affiliated Hospital — also known as Nanjing Pukou Hospital — is a general hospital in Nanjing's Jiangbei New Area, established jointly by the New Area and Nanjing Medical University. Its own published introduction describes it as a Grade 3 general hospital: Grade 3 is the top tier in China's hospital classification. This page claims Grade 3 only. The hospital does not claim Grade 3A, so we do not claim it on the hospital's behalf.
A department inside a general hospital
The Medical Aesthetics Department — the hospital calls it the Medical Aesthetics Centre — covers three areas of work: aesthetic surgery, aesthetic dermatology and aesthetic traditional Chinese medicine. It runs expert clinics, general clinics and condition-specific clinics, and sits on the first floor of the outpatient building.
The hospital's history runs back to 1908. The present institution was formed in April 2018 by merging two hospitals, took its current name in November 2019, opened its Jingxin campus in December 2020, and was redesignated as a Grade 3 hospital in December 2021.

One of the department's own figures does not add up, so here it is rather than tidied away. The department writes that it has twelve clinical and nursing staff, six at senior rank, and “of whom seven are registered aesthetic attending physicians” — but seven is more than six, so the second group cannot sit inside the first. We print both numbers as published and do not know which is current.

Stated scope: injectable wrinkle treatment; masseter, calf and shoulder reduction; injectable and minimally invasive treatment of axillary odour; brow surgery; comprehensive eye surgery; breast surgery; intimate surgery; excision of benign and malignant surface tumours; fat grafting and contouring; thread lifting; scar revision.
Her published profile also covers a different field. It sets out thyroid and breast oncological surgery in detail — thyroidectomy, neck dissection, endoscopic thyroid surgery, ablation of benign and malignant tumours — and lists committee work on breast surgery. That is consistent with her second post as deputy director of general surgery, and it is a different domain from aesthetic surgery. If you are considering her for an aesthetic procedure, the two roles are worth keeping apart.

Dr Zhang Guocheng

Positions the hospital states for him: former vice-president of the Institute of Dermatology, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences; visiting professor at the Shanghai Skin Disease Hospital and the Shandong Provincial Institute of Dermatology; and a named physician workstation established for him at this hospital. His profile also lists an extensive set of national and provincial honours, among them a State Council special allowance and national science and technology awards.
